More women in IT! SER at the Women&Work fair in Frankfurt

|

According to a Bitkom survey of approximately 500 companies in the IT and telecommunications industries, only 15 percent of all applications for a job as an IT specialist come from a woman. That’s way too few! After all, IT is not a man’s world! SER has been working for years already on motivating more women to pursue careers in the IT market. The efforts have already paid off, with 25 percent of SER’s employees being women — which is higher than the industry average. But we want more!

This is a major reason why SER was once again an exhibitor at Europe’s leading fair for women and career, called Women&Work. Over 100 top employers had booths at the Frankfurt Fair this past Saturday to show students, university graduates and professionals how they can start a new career at their company.

Visitors had the opportunity to schedule personal meetings ahead of time with us. This provided a great chance for potential applicants to get to know us, and vice versa. Throughout the day, we had many fascinating conversations with women from a diverse range of backgrounds. We had a lot of fun! In fact, several showed interest in joining the SER team. We are excited already for next year!
