Take-aways from the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2016

Last week SER participated in the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Barcelona. With an international team on site, SER hosted a VIP dinner and a booth in the exhibit hall and shared a speaker slot with ADM. All great and exciting things for sure, but my personal highlight was definitely seeing our logo on each and every attendee lanyard. Throughout the symposium, we saw at least 5,000 SER logos per day in every corner of the CCIB. What’s more, Gartner analysts spoke very positively about us when presenting the Magic Quadrant for ECM and iBPMS. Although we aren’t listed in the latter, our case management solution seems to have deeply impressed Gartner analyst Marc Kerremans.

But, first things first. We started off by hosting an exclusive VIP dinner Sunday evening at the spectacular OneOcean Club. Offering our guests welcome drinks at the lively bar gave us the first opportunity to socialize. Afterwards, the group of about 25 people meandered into the restaurant for dinner and more networking. Over the course of the evening we exchanged ideas, shared opinions and had inspiring conversations with the guests. We look forward to continuing the dialogue in the very near future and would like to thank all attendees.

The next four days were all about conference sessions and working the exhibit hall. Our prominent booth position allowed for many lively interactions and new encounters with attendees and analysts alike. In particular, the evening receptions gave us ample opportunity for further informal networking.

There was another highlight on Tuesday: Daniel van Dreumel, Senior IT Manager at ADM, hit the stage for our solution provider session at the main conference. His case study gave insights on how ECM and BPM work in real-life scenarios and disclosed how ADM utilizes our Doxis solution to execute billions in transactions each year.

We are now back from Barcelona with our heads full of ideas and lot of great things to follow up on. And we are already planning some other exciting events to come in December and early next year. We look forward to seeing you at one of these, or just meeting us in person at one of our global offices.
