SER Group donates 100,000 euros to people in need

(January 25, 2021 - Bonn) The SER Group is supporting various local, regional and international aid projects for people in need with a donation of 100,000 euros. The aid was distributed among numerous organizations that support, for example, people without housing or medical assistance, children & families in need and those living in structural poverty.

Some 235 million people worldwide are suffering from the economic and social repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to political conflicts, extreme winter conditions and natural disasters. “We asked ourselves: What can we do to help the people affected by these conditions? With our Christmas donation initiative ‘Donations instead of gifts: You click – We donate,’ we sought to provide financial support to those who need it most. We therefore selected a number of organizations and non-profits that are responsible for improving the living conditions of those marginalized in society,” explains Sven Oliver Behrendt, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of the SER Group. He adds: “There are so many amazing volunteers around the world who work tirelessly to aid and assist those in need. We cannot save the whole world, but we can provide financial support to some of these aid projects at home and abroad – and we are delighted to be able to do so.”

Social responsibility is a high priority at the SER Group

SER Group called on its employees, customers and business partners to support its donation initiative. The response was overwhelming: every click on the initiative page added 5 euros to the total, resulting in 47,995 euros. This sum was then matched and rounded up by the SER Group to a total of 100,000 euros.

The aid was distributed among organizations that support people without housing or healthcare, refugee projects, as well as institutions for seriously ill children and their families. The donation recipients can use the funds to improve living conditions and provide relief. They can also offer children points of contact for support and care and feed and protect people without housing.

Johannes Breuers, Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, adds: “Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, 2020 was a successful year for us, and we would like to pass something on with our donation. We would like to thank everyone who answered our call – and clicked – and by so doing contributed to the overall effort.”
